About the Applied Psychology Course:
The Applied Psychology course is designed for newcomers to the field of psychology who wish to understand behaviour and how psychology applies to people. The core schools of psychological thought are examined such as Psychodynamic, Biological, Cognitive, Humanistic and Behavioural Approaches. You will learn the strengths and limitations of each approach and acquire the ability to apply each approach to understand human behaviour.

The main forms of therapies and counselling are explored and how they are linked to the main psychological approaches. Analysis of specific behaviours as a result of loss, violence and addiction will develop your understanding of this key area of applied psychology.
Phobias and obsessive compulsive disorders will be explored and ways to cope with challenging behaviour in different settings such as work will be examined. The application of psychology theory to work makes it helpful for those intending to work in counselling, coaching or HR.
