John Hewson: Project Management Lecturer
John Hewson PMP, B.Sc. IT (Hons.) John is a qualified project manager with over 15 years of project and programme experience. He has managed several large business change projects at senior level for a major telecommunications company. John holds a Bachelors Degree in IT from DCU and a Diploma in Applied Project Management from University College Cork. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Project Management at the University of Limerick. John has written course material for the Advanced diploma courses and PMP course and has been lecturing on project management topics for CMI for over 3 years.

Thomas O’ Connor: Project Management Lecturer
Thomas O’Connor currently lectures to full and part time engineering students in DIT. Thomas has worked for one of Irelands leading Project Management Companies Lafferty Project Management and worked on projects such as Dundrum Phase 2, Pavilions shopping centre in Swords, Adamstown District centre and most recently the new Grand Canal Theatre in the Dublin Docklands. Thomas also worked for PJ Hegarty & Sons, one of the top 5 construction companies. During his time with PJ Hegarty & Sons Thomas worked on projects such as Naas General Hospital, Marks & Spencers stores country wide, Grand Canal Hotel and Beacon South Quarter. Thomas’s qualifications include a Masters degree in Energy Management, Engineering degree in Electrical services from DIT and a Post Grad Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College.

Tom Kelly: Journalism Lecturer
Tom Kelly is an RTÉ Journalist/Producer with more than twenty years experience. He joined RTÉ in 1988 working as a reporter on the Business programme, “Marketplace.” He subsequently joined the Newsroom and spent three years in Athlone as Midlands Correspondent. In the course of his News career, he reported from Bosnia and Somalia and covered numerous general election campaigns, both here at home and in Britain. Having moved back to Dublin from Athlone, he spent ten years working on the flagship News Magazine shows, “Nationwide” and “Capital D”. He took on a variety of roles in these popular programmes – Video Journalist, Producer and Editor. He completed RTÉ’s Producer/Director training course in 2002 and went on to produce many live one-hour Outside Boadcast shows . Tom was an elected member of RTÉ’s Corporate Editorial Board, serving from 2007 to 2010.

Jill Gibson: Public Relations and Event Management Lecturer
Jill has an indepth knowledge of the event management business and has vast experience in planning, production and execution of large and small scale events Jill now runs her own business in Dublin. Her Event Company specialises in bespoke event management and offers a complete professional service to the highest standard for clients. For past three years, Jill lectures on the Event Management and Public Relations for CMI. She has Diploma in Public relations and has over 20 years experience in Dublin’s top PR consultancies and event companies.

Caroline Ann Stephens: PR & Event Management Lecturer
Caroline Stephens lectures in PR, Communications and Events at the CMI. She runs her own Communications company. Caroline was previously Head of Dell’s Consumer Public Relations Division for Europe, and managed their Small Business Communications programme for the region. With over 15 years experience with the multinational in the technology arena, Caroline held a wide variety of management roles with responsibility for European, UK and Irish programmes, which also included agency management for events and PR. In addition, large scale events planning such as major European product launches to media, as well as event planning responsibility for all Michael Dell visits to the country, were under her remit. Caroline’s experience also covers the public sector, internal communications and the corporate sector . She has extensive media training experience.

Kira Byrne: Business Law & Media Law Lecturer
Kira graduated from UCD with a Bachelor of Business & Legal Studies in 1995 and from the NCIR with a Diploma in Personnel Management in 1998. She was called to the Bar in 2002 and has practised as a barrister for the past 8 years. Prior to this she worked in the Pensions Industry with Irish Life plc and Coyle Hamilton Willis (formerly Coyle Hamilton). She has lectured with the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Bray VEC and tutored at the Law Society. She has been lecturing with CMI for three years.

Dr Ian McCabe: H.Dip.Ed., Ph.D., Psy.D. PIPS: Child Psychology & Addiction Lecturer
Ian is a Counselling & Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland and validated by the Dept. of Health & Children. He worked in the Haight Ashbury Alcohol Treatment Centre, San Francisco and the Fifth Avenue Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre, New York. Ian returned has worked for the HSE Drugs and AIDS Service for five years and was based in Addiction Response in Dublin. Ian's educational qualifications include a H. Dip.Ed.(Hons.) from TCD, a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the Jesuit University of San Francisco, a Certificate in Drug & Alcohol Abuse Studies from UC Berkeley, a Doctorate in International Relations supervised by the London School of Economics and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Currently he is a Diploma Candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute, Zurich and has completed 4 years training as a Child & Adolescent Analyst, specialising in sand play.

Katherine Finn: Criminology & Law
Katherine is a lawyer of 14 years' experience, the first 11 years of which she spent in practice as a solicitor, mostly in the field of criminal law. She was called to the Bar in October 07 and commenced practice as a barrister the same month. She continues to practice mainly in the area of criminal law. She has extensive lecturing experience, at, among others, the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland, where she taught various legal subjects to trainee solicitors for many years, the National College of Ireland where she lectured in family law, criminal law and employment law, the Emerald Institute where she delivered courses in legal English, and CMI, where she currently delivers courses in criminal law and criminology. She holds a BA from UCD, a postgraduate diploma in criminology from DIT, graduating with first class honours, a diploma in the history of art from Trinity, and a BL from the Kings Inns.

Michelle Flannelly: HR Management Lecturer
Michelle Flannelly has worked for the world’s top companies and in diverse industries. Michelle now runs her own HR consultancy practice working in partnership with clients across key HR issues including; Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Performance Management, Diversity, Training, Employee Relations, Organisation Change and Restructuring. Michelle is a ‘Chartered Fellow’ of the CIPD and has extensive HR operational and consultancy expertise, of almost 20 years.

Aine Bodley: Advertising & Buyer Behavior Lecturer
Áine Bodley has a degree in Communications Studies from Dublin City University, she also holds a Masters in Advertising fron DIT. Áine has extensive experience in advertising having worked in Carat Ireland as a Media Planner and Buyer and in Ogily as a Account Manager. She also has several years experience working client side as a Marketing Manager. In 2009 Áine set up her own business as a Marketing Consultant.

Shane Mooney BA,MBA:
Shane is an experienced sales lecturer and holds an MBA in Marketing from DIT and is a graduate member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. He has worked for over 15 years in the financial services sector in sales management, key accounts and project management. He is currently an Independent Financial Advisor and lectures for CMI in Sales & Sales mgmt.

John Kilcoyne B.A., ACA, AITI, ADIFRS
John is a chartered accountant and chartered tax consultant. He has over 13 years experience across the finance function in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. His experience covers key business aspects such as; financial management, financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management, management accounting and auditing. In addition, John successfully completed an advanced diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards in 2008 to copper fasten both his domestic and international accounting expertise. He has the ability to explain complex financial topics in an understandable way using practical examples, thus optimising the student’s learning experience. As well as lecturing on CMI programmes, John also lecturers at postgraduate level on a part-time basis at Dublin City University.

John Schley Garda Sergeant
John is a Garda Segreant for the Garda Siochana. He is head of the crime scene investigation unit in South County Dublin and lectures for CMI in the areas of Forensic Investigation and Crime Scene Analysis.

Henry Sheehan: GMIIPMM, GIITD, MCIPS, GMec Eng – Purchasing Mgmt Lecturer
Henry has facilitated courses both on open seminar programmes and for in- house training clients. His background includes 22 years in Financial Services working in a number of Senior Procurement & Facilities roles. Henry holds a Post Grad in Education & Training, is a graduate of Procurement & Supply Management & Mechanical Engineering . He also holds a Certificate in Training & Development and lectures on procurement for CMI.

Colm Dunne: Customer Service & Purchasing Management Lecturer
Colm has over thirty years industry experience in a variety of management roles. He has over twenty years experience as a lecturer and trainer. He holds an M.A. and B Sc (Mgmt) from Trinity College, Certificate in Continuing Education and a Certificate in English Language Training. John Hoey M.S.c CIPD: Strategic Management & Business lecturer
John Hoey (M.S.c. CIPD) lectures with CMI in Business and Management and has over 20 years industry experience in financial , manufacturing and retail sectors. John specialises in knowledge management, employee development and business change and is currently Knowledge Manager for a leading Technology company in Dublin. John also speaks at seminars on the topic of Knowledge Management. He holds a Masters in Strategy from University of Strathchlyde.

Fiona Mullin: Event Management Lecturer
Fiona currently works as Head of Event Sales for a prestigious 5 star Hotel Resort outside Dublin. She ran the Event Sales team for 8 years and has organized various types of events. Fiona has worked in the Hospitality industry in Ireland for over 15 years. She has completed 2 degrees 1 in Hotel and Catering Management and 1 in Business Tourism and also has a Masters in Strategic Hospitality Management.

John Daly BA MIS (Hons), MCP – IT & Computers & Project Mgmt
John is the Director and owner of an IT/Web Services company. He has over 14 years of experience in Information Technology, Network infrastructure and Server installation and project management. John has been lecturing with CMI for the past two years.
