Finance Course Overview

The Certificate in Finance course is an introductory finance course designed to help you analyse and easily understand and apply financial terminology and accounting concepts.

It is a highly practical and applied course which will examine how money flows in and out of business accounts. You will learn about financial statements and key areas such as profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and cash flow. The composition and contents of different sets of financial statements using real life examples will also be examined.

As the Finance course progresses, you will build your confidence in dealing with financial statements which will enhance your prospects of career change and promotion. The Finance course is ideally suited to managers, payroll clerks, book keepers or anyone involved in monitoring financial statements.

Finance Course Aims & Objectives:
Students will be able to:

• Understand financial terminology
• Demonstrate their ability to read financial statements
• Assess financial viability and performance
• Evaluate budgetary date and cashflow projections
• Distinguish different methods of costing
• Understand monetary control and capital appraisal.

Progression:  Students can follow on from this course with taking the ACCA Financial Management course offered by CMI. Some careers available in finance include: Investment banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate Finance Financial Planning, Hedge Funds, Insurance, Investment Banking, Money Management. Students may gain further qualifications such as the ACCA Diploma in Financial Management or ACCA Diploma in International Financial Reporting, Degree in Accounting/Finance upon completion of the course.
 

Finance Course Cost & Duration: The duration of the course is 10 weeks and is held in Dublin city centre once a week. The cost is 950 Euro including assessment fees.
