About the Course:
This course is perfect for anyone wishing to strengthen their presentation and performance skills whether for personal or career reasons. Those wishing to pursue a career related to the media and broadcast journalism or acting will benefit hugely from this course. The course places strong emphasis on personal development and examines use of the voice, creativity, tonality and pace of delivery in a range of different settings. Areas covered include delivery of communication in a news bulletin, interview and/ or presentation on TV, Radio or on a Stage or Work setting.
 

You will learn new personal insights about yourself and the way you communicate that will remain with you forever. Learn how to develop charisma and most importantly communicate with ease, while developing confidence for every area of your life. The Presentation & Performance Skills course cover the key elements of Voice, Presentation and Performance. Relevant skills are developed through active participation in practical exercises.
You will be coached in your vocal and physical delivery skills both in groups and individually and will learn to work with autocue to deliver News, scripts for pieces to camera for studio, interview and 'live' outside broadcast situation. For anyone wishing to pursue a career in the bright lights of TV/film, this course is a must.
 

Aims & Objectives:
Students will be able to:
• Master how others hear your voice and measure your presence.
• Know which styles you use; observe and learn from other styles to avoid barriers
• Understand power of creativity in mastering material demonstrated through vocal versatility
• Acquire the art and respect of effective presentation and performance work.
• Identify the dynamics of your voice, and be more effective in your vocal delivery.
• Gain and Identify the use of a range of vocal delivery techniques,
• Optimise your vocal strengths and enhance weaker characteristics.
• Learn a schedule of rehearsal to reach peak vocal performance when you need it.
• Implement techniques to effectively warm up your voice, and dramatically improve your tone and clarity.
Harmonise voice, body and speech to create effective communication.
• Understand the requirements of participation in a radio and/or TV production working team.

Progression:

Degree in Journalism and Media, Careers open to graduates as a broadcast journalist, interviewer, scriptwriter, communications specialist, PR advisor, TV Correspondent, Acting, Speech and Drama. 

Course Cost & Duration

The duration of the course is 10 weeks and is held in Dublin city centre once a week. The cost is 950 Euro including assessment fees.
