Course Aims & Objectives
The aim of the Certificate in Wedding Planning is to provide participants with the
numerous skills they need to work as a professional Wedding Organiser. You will learn how
to prepare, implement and evaluate wedding events as well as co-ordinate the different
elements that make a wedding truly memorable. The course will explore how to prepare
winning proposals, effectively negotiate with suppliers, manage finances and the
budget, locate suitable venues and schedule staff. Tips will be explored as to how to
creatively design and implement a successful wedding. You will have an opportunity to put together your own Wedding proposal for a real wedding of your choice and this will form a major part of your assessment for the course. Students who successfully complete the Certificate in Wedding Planning will receive exemptions from certain aspects of the Diploma in Event Management or Advanced Diploma in Event Management programme.
The Certificate in Wedding planning course is an intensive 10 week course that covers every conceivable aspect of planning, coordinating and managing a wedding, either in Ireland or abroad. A unique aspect of this course is that it covers every aspect of wedding planning. The head lecturer has worked in Wedding Planning for over 15 years and a number of Guest lecturers will be invited to speak on specialist areas such as Catering, Themed Weddings, Videography, Music etc.

Methodology
The principal method of learning is through lectures, Guest lecturers, course notes and a major wedding project proposal which must be presented at end of course. Students are expected to read recommended texts to complement course materials. Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate in Wedding Planning upon completion of project assignment.

Cost and Duration
The duration of the Certificate in Wedding Planning course is one evening per week over ten weeks. Total cost is 950 euro which includes 200 euro assessment fees and is payable in advance of course commencement. Please note places are limited and enrolment forms must be submitted by the deadline date. Evening class plus Saturday class option.
