What is the difference between the International Diploma  and the Diploma in Health & Safety offered by NEBOSH?

The principal method of learning is through lectures, course notes and case studies.

The NEBOSH International Diploma has been modelled on the National UK Diploma in Health & Safety. The key difference between the two qualifications is in the applicability of legal requirements. Rather than be guided by a UK framework, the International Diploma reflects international best practice and international standards. The international dimension of this Diploma is ideal for students intending to travel with their qualification or work for multinational organisations.

The International Diploma refers to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) codes of practice, with special reference to models such as the ILO's "Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems" (ILO-OSH 2001). CMI, does include relevant Irish legislation for health and safety practioners intending to work in Ireland, but this is not included on NEBOSH syllabus or exams.
