The Fashion Buying & Merchandising certificate course is suited for potential fashion buyers, merchandisers, designers and those involved in fashion sales promotion.

Fashion Buyers have an important role withing the retail sector, from observing the latest trends, to choosing the right product line, to arranging continuity of supply for that season, to final product decision making. The complex and challenging nature of this role involves negotiating the best prices. Fashion Merchandisers have an equally important role.

You will learn every aspect of the fashion buying and merchandising process from start to finish. A collection of work throughout the course, involves practical assignments which you would apply in a real fashion retail business. You will use your creative skill and flair to develop a fashion range, that will consist of at least 10 pieces. It will reflect current and upcoming trends for that season. You will engage in trend forecasting to ensure that the season's collections match with customer expectations.

An important aspect of the course is learning to know the customer. You will study the market context in which fashion buyers and merchandisers operate, along with the commercial viability. The role the customer plays in influencing and informing buying is essential and you will learn new techniques in customer profiling.

This  Fashion buying course is delivered by qualified and skilled industry professionals from our School of Fashion Retail and they offer unique insights and years of experience . This course leads to a QQI level 5 Award and real career progression.
