Course Overview
The Diploma in Purchasing and Supply course is awarded by the prestigious CIPS, Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply and is the first chartered purchasing course of its kind in Ireland. Designed for those who aspire to work as Chartered Purchasing & Supply professionals, this is the primary step on the route to the Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supply level 8 and full Membership of CIPS.
Due to the chartered nature of the award, graduates will be in an excellent position to capitalise on national and multi-national career opportunities, here in Ireland and abroad. This course enables you to develop knowledge and skills in purchasing and supply and most importantly develop solutions to unpredictable problems. You will learn how poor purchasing decisions can lead to financial collapse of organisations while good procurement can enhance profitability and ensure long term growth.
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to save on costs and run an efficient purchasing and supply operation. You will have the opportunity to evaluate and use information to develop strategies, examine case scenarios and demonstrate effective judgement skills in planning, procurement and supply activity. The Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management course is recognised on framework at level 6 in Ireland and level 4 UK.
The Diploma in Purchasing & Supply course is recognised in Ireland and internationally in over 120 countries. The Diploma is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (UK). and is recognised to level 6 standard in Republic Of Ireland and level 4 in UK under the National Framework of Qualifications.
Course Aims:
Upon course completion, you will be able to:

Evening Classes Cost
CMI Classes Fee 1,950 Euro + CIPS Fees 515Stg
The taught course through classes is 20 weeks in duration and costs 1,950 euro which includes 10 course books, lecture notes, past exam papers and online study resources. This fee excludes CIPS Registration and Exam fees which must be paid directly to CIPS. Students can also do this course by distance learning.
Distance Learning Cost
CMI Classes Fee 1,450 Euro + CIPS Fees 515Stg
The distance learning course is 6 months in duration and costs 1,450Euro which includes books and access to lecture notes, past exam papers and online study resources. The distance course can be started at anytime, however exam sittings are fixed. This fee excludes CIPS Registration and Exam fees which must be paid directly to CIPS. An optional weekend seminar covering each module, each term is available.

Exam Fees

Shane Mooney BA,MBA:
Shane holds an MBA in Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and is a graduate member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. He has extensive Sales Management, Negotiation, Key Account Management and Project Management experience having worked in these roles for over 15 years in the financial services sector. He is a qualified financial advisor and provides Ses, Marketing and Business Consultancy Services to the SME sector. He also mentors and tutors with Co Meath VEC. Shane lectures for CMI in Negotiation, sales management and has also lectured in project management, career information, work preparation and various marketing and business disciplines
Henry Sheehan: GMIIPMM, GIITD, MCIPS, GMec Eng – Purchasing Mgmt Lecturer
Henry has facilitated courses both on open seminar programmes and for in- house training clients. His background includes 22 years in Financial Services working in a number of Senior Procurement & Facilities roles. Henry holds a Post Grad in Education & Training, is a graduate of Procurement & Supply Management & Mechanical Engineering . He also holds a Certificate in Training & Development and lectures on procurement for CMI.

The CIPS Diploma in Purchasing & Supply distance learning course is identical to the taught courses offered by CMI except attendance at lectures is not required. The course fee excludes CIPS Registration and Exam fees which must be paid directly to CIPS. Exams will still need to be attended at the CMI designated study centre.
