Course Overview
The Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is a level 8 post graduate qualification which is awarded by the prestigous CIPS, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. This course is designed for middle and senior purchasing and supply managers who have completed the Diploma level 6 and Advanced Diploma level 7 CIPS qualifications. This course will bring your learning together to a new level.
At this level, critical thinking is encouraged and contemporary issues in supply chain management will be examined. It aims to provide you with both a theoretical and practical understanding of issues affecting the business environment and the purchasing and supply chain function.
Course Aims
You will acquire leadership skills to enable you to lead and provide direction to all stakeholders within the supply chain. You will also learn to manage change and evaluate the risks associated with various models of supply chain structures. The work based project option is excellent as it enables you to gain a deeper understanding of supply chain theory. A project management understanding and worldview of SCM will also be acquired. Finance in relation to the decision-making process, will be analysed, so that you can lead organisations into increased profitability.

Each level of CIPS courses, offers different membership. Level 4 students are required to become student members to register for exams. To gain full membership of CIPS (MCIPS), at least three years’ experience in a position of responsibility in purchasing and supply is required. Evening Classes Cost
The taught course through classes is 20 weeks in duration and costs 1,950 euro which includes 10 course books, lecture notes, past exam papers and online study resources. The fee is payable in advance of course commencement. Please note places are limited and online booking must be submitted by the deadline date This fee excludes CIPS Registration and Exam fees which must be paid directly to CIPS. Students can also do this course by distance learning.
Distance Learning Cost
The distance learning course is 6 months in duration and costs 1,450Euro which includes books and access to lecture notes, past exam papers and online study resources. The distance course can be started at anytime, however exam sittings are fixed. This fee excludes CIPS Registration and Exam fees which must be paid directly to CIPS. An optional weekend seminar covering each module, each term is available.

- Instalment plans: Instalment plans are offered for unemployed and part-time workers to be agreed with admissions prior to course commencement A. Pay 300 deposit B. 50% of fee by start date of course. C. Balance of fee within 8 weeks.
- Sponsorship: Students must still pay a deposit of 300euro to secure their place irrespective of whether they are being sponsored by an employer or other body. Once payment is received in full for the course by this sponsor, the student will receive a 300euro deposit refund.

Shane Mooney BA,MBA:
Shane holds an MBA in Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and is a graduate member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. He has extensive Sales Management, Negotiation, Key Account Management and Project Management experience having worked in these roles for over 15 years in the financial services sector. He is a qualified financial advisor and provides Ses, Marketing and Business Consultancy Services to the SME sector. He also mentors and tutors with Co Meath VEC. Shane lectures for CMI in Negotiation, sales management and has also lectured in project management, career information, work preparation and various marketing and business disciplines
Henry Sheehan: GMIIPMM, GIITD, MCIPS, GMec Eng – Purchasing Mgmt Lecturer
Henry has facilitated courses both on open seminar programmes and for in- house training clients. His background includes 22 years in Financial Services working in a number of Senior Procurement & Facilities roles. Henry holds a Post Grad in Education & Training, is a graduate of Procurement & Supply Management & Mechanical Engineering . He also holds a Certificate in Training & Development and lectures on procurement for CMI.
Eligibility
This course is open to people from any educational background and with various levels of work experience. Students must have completed the CIPS level 6 Diploma and level 7 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing & Supply to be eligible for entry to this course. Exemptions are only achieved for exact course modules completed in another institute. What is the progression options?
Progression
Successful graduates will hold the title Dip.PSM after their name. Students are eligible to pursue the CIPS Advanced Diploma level 7 and Graduate Diploma level 8 in Purchasing & Supply and gain full membership of CIPS. 90% of students do progress to the next stage.
