Tourism Management Advanced Diploma

Course Overview


The Tourism Management advanced diploma course is designed for those wanting to enter the tourist industry or for those already working in this area, who require an excellent qualification. This course is open to people from any educational background and with various levels of experience. A background in the Hotel/Tourism/Hospitality sector is helpful but not essential.

 

The Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management level 7 course is awarded by the prestigious Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH)  and is endorsed by the highly regarded Institute of Hospitality (UK). The course is registered on the Register of Regulated Qualifications (UK)  to level 5 standard which is broadly equivalent to a level 7 standard in  Ireland. This ensures entry to top universities and colleges should you wish to pursue a degree or Masters degree. An Advanced Diploma level 7 qualification is equivalent to the first year and second year of a degree.

Course Aims

 

The Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management aims to provide an understanding of the  managerial, decision making and leadership aspects of the tourism industry. The course provides you with a practical approach to tourism initiatives and will explore solutions to the central issues confronting tourism today.

 

According to the World Tourism Organisation, 1 in 10 jobs depends upon tourism, which includes holidaymakers and business visitors, which makes tourism vital for any economy. The course is designed to provide you with both the technical skills required in the travel industry, together with instruction in the essential entrepreneurial and management functions. Going beyond textbooks, the course incorporates the latest knowledge in tourism and hospitality using real-life case examples.

There are 6 Key Tourism Management Modules:

1. Tour Operations

2. Management Accounting

3. Strategic Management

4. Sustainable Tourism and Destination Management

5. Human Resource Management

6. Management Research Report

* This Research Project allows you the unique opportunity to carry out a research report that involves analysing and interpreting data and making recommendations for future action. The module has a secondary aim of developing independent research and study skills that students will require when following a further period of study or working in the industry.

The fee for this programme is €2,550. This includes all tuition, registration, assessment and online notes.

To secure your place on the programme a deposit payment of 300euro is required. The balance of fees are payable in advance of the course start date.

The Unemployed or part-time workers have the option of a two part installment plan.  Terms & Conditions apply.

 

 

How do I Book?

  1. Simply complete the online booking form
  2. Pay a 300euro deposit online via Visa or Laser card.
  3. Your place on the course is 100% confirmed within 48 hours of receipt of online booking/payment.
  4. All course fees are payable in advance and the balance of payment is required before or on start date of course.
  5. Cash, Cheques, Bank transfer is also accepted as alternative means of payment, in which case you must inform CMI admissions in advance.

  7. CMI courses are held off Dame St, Dublin 2 in Dublin city centre.

  9. Instalment plans: Instalment plans are offered for unemployed and part-time workers to be agreed with admissions prior to course commencement    A. Pay 300 deposit  B.  50% of fee by start date of course. C. Balance of fee within 8 weeks.
  10. Sponsorship:  Students must still pay a deposit of 300euro to secure their place irrespective of whether they are being sponsored by an employer or other body. Once payment is received in full for the course by this sponsor, the student will receive a 300euro deposit refund.

Fiona Mullin: Tourism & Hotel Management Lecturer
Fiona currently works as Head of Events for a prestigious 5 star Hotel Resort outside Dublin. She ran the Event Sales team for 8 years and has organized various types of events. Fiona has worked in the Hospitality industry in Ireland for over 15 years. She has completed 2 degrees 1 in Hotel and Catering Management and 1 in Business Tourism and also has a Masters in Strategic Hospitality Management

Course Eligibility
This course is open to people from any educational background and with various levels of experience. A background in the Hotel/Tourism/Hospitality sector is helpful but not essential.
