    This Child Psychology course is a part-time evening course and is the study of the subconscious and conscious development of children. 


    On this child psychology course, you will learn the cognitive, social and emotional development of the child and the developmental stages of childhood from conception to Adolescence. You will learn how to apply child psychology concepts and understand the psychological situations that can affect how a child behaves in the context of his/her family, school and our larger society.

    What is a child psychologist? 
    Many children have to cope with the stresses of life like divorce, death, and family or school transitions. A child psychologist will assist children with a variety of developmental issues, from learning disabilities to severe mental illness. Child psychology observes how a child interacts with their parents, themselves, and the world, to understand their mental development.

    Whether you are a parent yourself or work within the childcare profession this course will provide you with the range of skills and knowledge to help you facilitate child development. The Certificate course leads to a QQI level 6 Minor award in Child Psychology.

    Applicants are required to pay a minimum deposit of €300 to secure a place on the programme. The balance of fees are due on or before programme commencement.

Samantha is an experienced Owner Manager and practitioner of a Pre-School providing the ECCE scheme for the last nine years. She has an excellent record of attending many workshops and courses held by South Dublin Childcare Committee (S.D.C.C.) and Early Childcare Ireland (E.C.I.) that advocates for childcare professionals to engage in continuous professional development. Samantha holds an array of qualifications including the Train the Trainer Qualification, HETAC Level 5 & 6 in Childcare and a Level 8 BA in Early Years Teaching from Maynooth University. Samantha lectures on Child Psychology with CMI.
