Children have to cope with the stresses of life like divorce, death, and family or school transitions. The study of child psychology will help you understand child developmental issues, from learning disabilities to severe mental illness. A huge part of child psychology is observation and recording how a child interacts with their environment and understanding the subconscious and conscious development of children.
On this child psychology course, you will learn the cognitive, social and emotional development of the child and the developmental stages of childhood from age 3 to thirteen. You will learn how to apply child psychology concepts and understand the psychological situations that can affect how a child behaves in the context of his/her family, school and our larger society.
Whether you are a parent yourself or work within the childcare profession this course will provide you with the range of skills and knowledge to help you facilitate child development. The Certificate course leads to a QQI level 6 Minor award in Child Psychology.

Richard Doyle is a Technical Project Manager with over 30+ years’ experience managing complex, cross-functional largescale IT network build projects in international environments. Many years spent working with large global organisations such as Ericsson, Digicel, Amazon/AWS as Network Project Manager or in team leader roles as Portfolio Manager, heading up teams of delivery project managers in PMO environments. Richard teaches the official PMP Certification course with CMI Ireland.
Simon is currently working as an Agile Coach for an International Consultancy with a blue chip client in the UK Midlands. He has been involved with Higher Education for many years, originally with Reading University then recently for the Universities of Southampton and finally Bristol University, bringing his Agile skills and experience to staff, academics and students. He has over 16 years’ experience training PMI PMP exam preparation courses and Lean Agile/Agile Scrum across the globe in a variety of Industry sectors.

He is married to Helen for over 45 years, lives in a country village just outside Wickham near Fareham, Hampshire, on the south coast, and is the proud father of 4 children and Grandfather of 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchild.”
Marcus works as a Senior HR Business Partner with Analog Devices Ireland. Marcus has 25 years of industry experience having worked in manufacturing and engineering role before moving to HR. Marcus is a CIPD member and a Chartered Organisational Psychologist of the Psychological Society of Ireland. He holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology. He teaches modules such as Diversity and inclusion on CIPD Diploma programmes with CMI.
Amy Walsh is a practicing Barrister with a particular interest in the areas of criminal law, family law, immigration law and human rights law. I am an experienced lecturer, project manager and researcher in the area of law.
John Schley is a Crime Scene Investigator Teacher at CMI and teaches on the CMI Crime Scene and Advanced Crime Scene Investigation courses. John, recently retired as a Sergeant with an Garda Siochana, and has a vast array of experience in criminal investigations, including many high profile cases. He was responsible for the setting up and managing of the Dublin South Crime Scene Investigation Unit, a position he has held for over 18 years. John is the holder of the Forensic Science Societies Post-Graduate Diploma from the University of Strathclyde and certifications in Crime Scene Management, Crime Scene Investigation, Fire and Arson investigation, Homicide Investigation, and Crime scene Photography.
