    Fashion Buying Courses & Merchandising


    In this Fashion buying course, which focuses primarily on fashion buying, you will learn every aspect of the fashion buying and merchandising process from start to finish. 

    A collection of work throughout the course, involves practical assignments which you will apply to a real fashion retail business. You will use your creative skill and flair to develop a fashion range, that will consist of at least 10 pieces. It will reflect current and upcoming trends for that season. You will engage in fashion trend forecasting to ensure that the season's collections match with customer expectations. 

    You will learn the importance of observing the latest trends, to choosing the right product line, to arranging continuity of supply for that season, to final product decision making. The complex and challenging nature of this role involves negotiating the best prices.

    This Fashion buying Merchandising course is delivered by qualified and skilled industry professionals from our School of Fashion Retail and they offer unique insights and years of experience.  It takes place, only one night per week close to the fashionable Grafton street in Dublin. Completing all assessment on this course, leads to a QQI level 5 Award in Fashion Buying & Merchandising and further opportunities to progress.

    Classroom course is € 980.00

    Includes all tuition, registration, assessment and online notes.

    Applicants are required to pay a minimum deposit of €300 to secure a place on the programme. The balance of fees are due on or before programme commencement.

Carly McQuaid

Carly is creative and passionate about fashion buying and merchandising. She has over 10 years’ experience within the retail and fashion industry in Dublin and New York designing and fashion buying for Primark and purchase planning for Bulgari LVMH. She holds a BA honours degree in fashion design from Limerick School of Art and Design and a Level 6 QQI qualification in Montessori. Carly lectures with CMI on the Fashion Buying and Merchandising course.
