    Level
    The Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management is awarded by OTHM qualifications which is recognised on the RQF Regulated qualifications framework to Level 7 (England) which is comparable to Level 9 (Ireland), same level as a Masters degree. OTHM qualifications (England) are approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).

    Entry Criteria
    ● A minimum of a Level 6 qualification such as the level 6 OTHM Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent Level 6 qualification; or
    ● An honours degree (2.2) with relevant knowledge and experience in the occupational health and safety sector
    ● Learners must be 21 years or older at the beginning of the course.

    Options
    Admissions will check your eligibility (based on qualifications and past work experience). If you do not satisfy the entry criteria, we would recommend the level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety  or the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety  as the alternative route to do the Post Graduate Diploma .

        Sponsorship: Students must still pay a deposit of 300 euro to secure their place irrespective of whether they are being sponsored by an employer or other body. 

        Once payment is received in full for the course by the sponsor, the student will receive a 300euro deposit refund.

      Rachel Beirne: Occupational Health & Safety

      Rachel began her career in food safety as a food safety manager and consultant. She then moved into the role of HSEQ Auditor, auditing contract catering, cleaning and facility sites against ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 18001. In 2017 she took on the role of HSEQ manager for a large contract catering company where she heads up their strategic HSEQ planning as well as ensuring compliance and maintaining the company’s ISO standards across their 150+ sites. 

      She has a BSc & MSc in Environmental Health and safety Management, as well as 14 years industry experience. She is an affiliated member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD) and a graduate member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Rachel teaches unit 2 Control Hazards in the workplace.

      Roy Scott
      Roy Scott is the Head of Environmental Health & Safety & Environmental Social Governance (ESG) for Turmec Engineering, an ISO 45001 certified company. As part of his current role, Roy is implementing a robust Sustainability Program for the company, with specific focus on EHS. Before joining Turmec, Roy was the Global Head of People Data Privacy at Facebook. Prior to this role, Roy worked across multiple compliance functions within Flex, including his role as Global Lead for EHS, covering 100 manufacturing facilities, across 100 countries, with 200,000 employees. He brings over 30 years of experience in the health and safety field, right through from being a hands-on safety office to a Global EHS Director. Roy teaches on several units on the Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with CM

      Graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland with an M.Sc. in Health Safety and Risk Management. 15+ years’ experience in health and safety across various industries including mining and mineral exploration, quarrying, construction and manufacturing. Currently employed at Danone Wexford as a Senior Health and Safety Officer. Areas of interest include Risk Management, Cultural Safety and First Aid. Ken teaches Risk and OHS culture with CMI.

      Married to wife Ciara and have three kids, Finna, Paraic and Roisin living in Kilmuckridge Co. Wexford. Hobbies include hurling, fishing and hiking. Favourite band is Oasis and favourite football club is Man United. Favourite movies include hot shots and dumb and dumber.
