You’ll evaluate how warehouse layout impacts organisational efficiency, assess the importance of location for meeting customer needs, and explore when outsourcing logistics services can add value. These skills enable professionals to design and manage high-performing warehouse strategies that support overall business objectives.

Strategic Supply Chain Management Methodology (15 credits)

This unit in our warehouse management online course helps professionals understand what makes a supply chain successful and how it supports an organisation’s strategic objectives. You’ll gain insights into the value of 3PL and 4PL models, learn to identify operational challenges, and explore improvement measures. Additionally, it covers the latest IT developments and their impact on supply chain efficiency, equipping you with the tools to drive innovation and resilience in global supply networks.

Strategic Operations Management (15 credits)

This unit in our warehouse management course develops advanced expertise in managing operational change, capacity planning, and scheduling to ensure efficiency and agility. You’ll learn how to align operations strategy with organisational goals and apply quality management principles to maintain competitive advantage. By mastering these skills, professionals can lead strategic initiatives that optimise processes and drive long-term success in supply chain environments.

Shane Healy is an experienced procurement and supply chain professional with over 20 years experience across multiple sectors including packaging, oil and gas and medical devices. Shane currently works as a senior global sourcing specialist with Boston Scientific. He holds an MSc in Supply Chain Management from SETU and a Bachelor of Business Degree in Supply Chain and Transport Management and a Post Graduate in Quality Management Lean Systems. Shane is also black belt certified in Lean Six Sigma. He currently teaches on the CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply with CMI.

Rob has worked in the Procurement & Supply Chain profession for over 20 years in a wide variety of industries ranging from IT, Retail, Marketing, Manufacturing and Logistics with companies such as IBM, Geodis, Crown Paints, Arnott’s & IT Works Marketing International. As a manager he has end to end experience in all of aspects of supply and demand planning, production, new product development, fulfillment, warehouse and customer delivery. As a senior project manager (PMO) he has developed and delivered process assessments and solutions for global customers. Rob holds a Bachelor of Business in International Business from Dorset College, a Post Graduate in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Enterprise from UCD and is also green belt qualified in Lean Six Sigma. Rob lectures on the Logistics and Supply course with CMI.
