Learning Difficulties
There are 3 major specific learning difficulties:
- Dyslexia
- Dysgraphia
- Dyscalculia.
Other learning difficulties include difficulties with auditory processing, memory, reading/visual
difficulties.
CMI Student Support team recognise and put forwards solutions to learners needs. Some students may require more time to complete assignments, or more time at exams. Initially one to one phone support is offered to assess a students needs and help us understand what you most require. We discuss your learning challenges. Face to face in-person meetings can also be arranged.
Sometimes some simple solutions are devised such as alternative types of assessment using auditory or visual aids to make is easier for a student with learning difficulties get through their course.
We always learner with learning difficulties first and do our best to provide supports within our capacity as a provider of professional education.

Digital Library
Library and information facilities are available for your academic and research requirements. All our Academic support staff are skilled in use of our Digital library .
In addition to the digital library, a range of research databases are available , 24 hours a day through your student login.
The library collections comprise print texts, e-journals, e-books and online databases.
Library inductions are provided to you whether you are a new or returning student.
Our Academic support team provides mentoring on how to search and evaluate information, avoid plagiarism, reference correctly and locate material relevant to your studies through Information Literacy Workshops.
Careers Service
The Careers Service at CMI provides a range of services to help meet the career planning, job search, of CMI College students. Students also have access to the CMI Career Portal which provides Information on CV and cover letter writing; further study opportunities; job vacancies search; preparing for an interview; post-degree career options; resources for employers; seeking internships; and seeking work experience.
Guest speakers, from industry and recruitment, attend various programmes to talk about job opportunities from a range of sectors.
